Cloud-Enabled Data Governance Frameworks for Secure and Compliant Enterprise Analytics
Abstract
Cloud-enabled analytics allows enterprises to integrate data from SaaS applications, operational databases, data lakes, warehouses, and external sources at significant scale. However, moving analytics workloads to cloud environments also introduces governance challenges involving data ownership, access control, privacy, regulatory compliance, data quality, lineage, and third-party risk. A cloud-enabled data governance framework addresses these challenges by combining organizational policies, accountability structures, metadata management, security controls, privacy practices, and continuous monitoring. NIST defines data governance as processes that formally manage enterprise data assets and establish authority, decision-making parameters, and management responsibilities
