Adaptive Enterprise Automation through Agentic AI and Edge Cloud Intelligence for Digital Transformation

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies has accelerated the adoption of intelligent automation across enterprises, transforming traditional business processes into adaptive, data-driven ecosystems. Agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI), characterized by autonomous decision-making, reasoning, planning, and task execution, has emerged as a transformative technology for enterprise automation. When integrated with edge cloud intelligence, Agentic AI enables real-time data processing, decentralized computing, and intelligent service orchestration, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and responsiveness. This study explores the role of adaptive enterprise automation through the convergence of Agentic AI and edge cloud intelligence in supporting digital transformation initiatives. The research examines how intelligent agents facilitate dynamic workflow automation, predictive decision-making, resource optimization, cybersecurity enhancement, and customer-centric service delivery across distributed enterprise environments. Furthermore, the study evaluates the architectural foundations of edge-cloud integration and highlights its capability to reduce latency, improve scalability, and enable continuous operational intelligence. A qualitative secondary research methodology based on systematic literature analysis is employed to investigate existing technological developments, implementation practices, and research trends. The findings indicate that the integration of Agentic AI with edge cloud intelligence significantly enhances enterprise agility, innovation, resilience, and business performance while addressing challenges related to governance, interoperability, security, ethical AI, and organizational readiness. The study contributes to understanding future intelligent enterprise ecosystems capable of supporting sustainable digital transformation
