Advanced Quality Assurance and Automated Testing for Mobile Applications Using Cloud Computing

Abstract

The vaporous appearance of the mobile applications industry has spread the necessity of the reputable, robust and systemically dependable quality assurance (QA) and automatic testing designs. Classical mobile testing systems are usually fraught with problems of device fragmentation, operating-system fragmentation, network variability and lack of proper testing methods and infrastructure. In this study, the researcher suggests an Advanced Quality Assurance and Automated Testing Framework (AQAATF) which uses cloud computing, automated test execution and continuous integration and smart test management of mobile applications. The implemented layers as shown in the postulated implementation would comprise of five layers which would be as shown; Application and Test input Layer, Automated test generation Layer, Cloud Based device and Execution layer, Quality Analytics Layer and Continuous Feedback Layer. It allows it to operate a variety of virtual and real mobile devices at the same time, carry out automatic functionality and regression testing, monitor performance, find defects as well as report centrally. The resources on the cloud can be grown and can minimize the reliance on the existence of testing machines and facilities within the location. The framework also takes into account risk-based dosage of tests so that the full testing time can be used in the maximum possible way, as does the computation resources. The proposed methodology will improve the test coverage, this time the test execution, defect detection, as well as overall quality of software at a reduced cost of testing. The assessment can be conducted in the form of an experiment comparing the framework with the standard practices of testing a mobile system based on execution time, testing coverage and defect rate as the main performativity indicators.
